Y. Akato Zhimomi

Mr. Y. Akato Zhimomi is a distinguished public leader, grassroots administrator, and experienced political worker with a longstanding commitment to community service.

He received his early education at Lady Bird School, Mokokchung, completed his matriculation from Merulistsa School, Kohima, pursued his Pre-University studies at Kohima Science College, Dimapur, and graduated from North-Eastern Hill University.

Mr. Zhimomi’s leadership journey began during his student years, where he held key positions including President of the Kiyevi Student Union (KSU), President of the Aqahuto Area Student Union (AASU), and Finance Secretary of the Western Sumi Student Union (WSSU). He later entered active politics through the Indian National Congress, serving as Assistant Joint Secretary for the Ghaspani-I Assembly Constituency. He further gained valuable administrative experience while serving as Personal Assistant to K. Hollohon.

In addition to his political involvement, he is an entrepreneur and contractor, leading Vertex Construction in executing key infrastructure projects, including PMGSY roads, housing schemes, and National Highway works. He also serves as the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Vertex Kia, Dimapur, Nagaland.

Since 2015, he has been serving as Chairman of Kiyevi Village Council, contributing significantly to grassroots governance and rural development.

Mr. Zhimomi is widely recognized for his strong organizational ability, administrative experience, and enduring commitment to public service and community welfare.
