Akali Fulmer
Akali Fulmer serves as Director of International Programs at the University of West Alabama, where she leads initiatives to strengthen global partnerships and advance international engagement. She also holds key leadership roles with Alabama International Education and Economic Partnerships, chairs Study Alabama: A Consortium for Global Engagement and Economic Development, and is a member of the NAFSA Region VII Executive Team.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Professional Studies in Higher Education Administration from the University of North Alabama, and graduate and postgraduate degrees in Theology from Seoul Christian University.
With extensive experience in international education, she specializes in developing programs that foster global collaboration and expand study abroad opportunities. She is a strong advocate for inclusive and equitable access to international learning. In 2024, she received the Fulbright International Education Administrator Award to Japan and later led a State of Alabama delegation to India to strengthen academic and economic partnerships.
Through her leadership, Akali Fulmer continues to advance global engagement and promote meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
